Hamden - "The Nutcracker" comes to
Hamden! The Cecchetti Ballet Theatre (CBT), a not-for-profit dance troupe, will perform the full-length production of Tchaikovsky's most-beloved ballet, The Nutcracker,
showing December 10 and 11 at the Hamden High School auditorium. This production features a cast of over 100 children and adults from Hamden and surrounding towns.
Returning to the cast this year is Greg Bomke, a Hamden native, who will perform the role of the Nutcracker Cavalier. Mr. Bomke has danced professionally with
American Repertory Ballet, and has performed as guest artist with Apollo's Banquet, Ilya Gaft Dance Theatre, and Adirondack Dance Company.
CBT is also thrilled to announce that Cameron Auble-Branigan will be their guest artist this year, performing the role of the
Snow King. Mr. Auble-Branigan currently studies ballet at the Barbara Sandonato School of Ballet in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has performed the roles of Snow
King and the Prince in Wilmington Ballet's production of The Nutcracker in 2009 and 2010.
Performing the role of Clara will be Liz Thompson. Liz, now a senior at Cheshire
High School, performed in her first Nutcracker when she was just 4 years old and has been dancing at Cheshire Dance Center ever since. After 13 years of hard
work she is thrilled to be Clara in this magical performance. Traditional and original choreography is staged by Betty Seibert, Artistic Director

Eastern Connecticut Ballet is also proud of more than ten years of Outreach Programming, honoring a steadfast commitment to the community. More than 30
,000 area students have seen ECB's Nutcracker free of charge through the generosity of foundations and sponsors; have donated over 2,000 Nutcracker tickets
to families served by 14 social service agencies, and has been expanded, this year, to include U.S. Military families; and have conducted more than 65 ballet and
nautical history assemblies at more than 14 area schools. The assemblies include an interactive reenactment of The Nutcracker party scene.
Stamford - Artistic Director Brett Raphael has announced the
expansion of the company's Nutcracker run from one weekend to two at the Palace Theatre, Stamford Center for the Arts, during the upcoming holiday season and appearances by four
of the ballet world's most celebrated international stars. "Connecticut Ballet's production is an annual holiday tradition in downtown Stamford and we are delighted to bring even more star
power to this most loved of ballets," stated Raphael. Performances are December 17 at 1:00pm & 5:00pm, December 18 at 2:00pm, and December 23 at 7:30pm.
Dancing the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Her Cavalier will be Julie Kent and David Hallberg and Gillian Murphy and Jose Manuel Carreno. Ms. Kent and Mr. Hallberg
will dance all performances on the weekend of December 17-18 and Ms. Murphy and Mr. Carreno will appear one night only on Friday, December 23rd. All but one
are currently principal dancers with American Ballet Theatre. Mr. Carreno retired from ABT last June and is now making guest appearances around the world. David
Hallberg was recently named the first-ever foreign-born dancer to join the renowned Bolshoi Ballet as a principal dancer and is known as one of America's greatest classical ballet stylists.
A special Nutcracker Tea 'n Sweets Holiday Party will be held between the two matinees on Saturday, December 17th. Sponsored by RBS, the event will benefit
Connecticut Ballet's educational outreach and production programs. Party goers ages four and up will have a chance to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy, dine on
delectable holiday sweets, and receive a stocking stuffed with quality holiday gifts. Attendees will meet the Sugar Plum Fairy (guest star Julie Kent of American Ballet
Theatre), dine on fresh crepes and ice cream sundaes prepared by Darlene's Heavenly Sweets of Old Greenwich, and take home a holiday gift bag. Tickets for the

Party at the Stratford Theatre. New England Ballet Company will perform an abbreviated version of the Nutcracker Suite, specially choreographed for a young

Stratford - For young children, New England Ballet presents the Sugarplum Party
on November 30th at the Stratford Theatre. Fairies, princesses, darling Victorian girls, and dancing dolls will entertain the young and the young at heart in an
abbreviated version of Nutcracker choreographed for a young audience. There is a kind, gentle Uncle Drosselmeyer and the rat army will sit out this performance to
create a lovely glittery 45 minute child friendly version of the holiday story. The show is professionally choreographed and costumed. The audience will experience dance
up close in the intimate setting of the Stratford theatre. The cast of characters will include Clara and her friends, Uncle Drosselmeyer, Sugarplum Fairy, Dewdrop Fairy
and her Flowers, Princesses from Arabia, Spain, and China, and two dancing dolls. All characters will be available after the show for questions and autographs. They will
also pose with guests for photographs for a small fee. After the show, the party will continue. Children will be invited to participate in a simple craft, Clara will read the
