New Haven Ballet proudly presents Artistic Director Lisa Sanborn's exciting full-length production of The Nutcracker once again at the historic Shubert Theater in downtown New Haven. This wonderful family friendly classic is set to music by Tchaikovsky. Come and experience Clara's dream world brought to life—from the enchanting party where she meets the charming nephew of her Uncle Drosselmeyer and is enthralled by dancing dolls, to the daring battle between the Mouse King and brave Nutcracker Prince. Lead by tiny reindeer, Clara and the Nutcracker Prince travel through the Land of Snow and journey to the enchanting Fantasy Land of Sweets, where they are entertained by various dancers – including the mysterious Arabian Coffee, the comical Mother Ginger, the dynamic Russian Trepak, and many more. Don't miss this seasonal ballet tradition, which features over 200 performers, who enthrall from beginning to end, and showcases the technical artistry of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, performed by principal guest artists from highly acclaimed ballet companies.
