Bellingham - The Mount Baker Ballet (MBB) production of The Nutcracker celebrates the 30th season of this regional company on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Mt. Baker Theatre, 104 Commercial in Bellingham, WA. Tickets are available at the theatre box office or by calling 360-734-6080. Dancers of the MBB will be joined by selected students from the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet and members of the community. The production features the original Petipa-Ivanov choreography staged by Illaria Obidenna Ladre. Bothell - Cameo/Carrabba Dance Theatre presents "The Nutcracker" and the Gift of Sharing. This timeless classic set to the Magnificent Tchaikovsky score, with colorful costumes, sets by Tony Canlis and a magical world of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. This original version, features children and adults, toy soldiers, dolls, mice, snowflakes, a dancing bear, Chinese, Russian, Spanish dancers who come together to create a fantasy world of characters and effects . This fast-paced production has been choreographed by Marco Carrabba, who is the Artistic Director. He performed with major dance companies, Hamburg, and Stuttgart Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Boston, San Francisco. Bainbridge Island – Olympic Performance Group (OPG) presents their holiday production, The Nutcracker, featuring dancers age five through adult from Bainbridge, SpanishPC011976Kingston, Port Orchard, Poulsbo and Seattle. The Nutcracker opens December 14, and runs through December 22.
     This timeless holiday classic is directed by recent Bainbridge transplant Jane Venezia and features classical and original choreography by Seattle resident Anna Percival and Ms. Venezia. Tchaikovsky's melodies sweep audience members of all ages off their feet, first to the historic Victorian era, and then to the magical Land of the Sweets.
     On December 1, OPG presented a special preview performance featuring selections from The Nutcracker at Bainbridge Cinemas, delighting audience members of all ages. Photos (attached) were taken by Heather Hood.
     The first weekend's performances (December 14-16), at Bainbridge High School's LGI Theater, are nearly all sold-out. Best availability is for the second weekend's performances (December 21 and 22) at North Kitsap Community Auditorium in Poulsbo.
     OPG's Nutcracker, sponsored by The Doctors Clinic, debuts at Bainbridge High School's LGI Theatre with a special charity performance benefiting local retirement homes (The Helpline House and Stephens House). Tickets to this performance are discounted at $12 each (adults, students, and seniors) and are only available at the door. Later performances take place both on Bainbridge at the LGI and in Poulsbo at North Kitsap Community Auditorium.

Gig Harbor - Milton S. Boyd Performing Arts Center - Gig Harbor's Encore Theater proudly announces its annual production of "The Nutcracker, Beyond the Dream". With the soaring music of Tschaikovsky, our traditional classical ballet production boasts an original  musical theater prologue, with actors and singers telling the tale of how the Nutcracker actually came to be a Nutcracker. This multi-media production provides something for every member of the family.
 
The performances will be Friday December 14th at 7:30; with two performances on Saturday December 15th at 2:30 and 7:30 and Sunday December 16th at 2:30. These performances will be held at the Milton S. Boyd Performing Arts Center at Peninsula High School located at 14105 Purdy Drive Northwest. Directed by Jennifer Branner and Kathleen McGilliard, several guest artists will be joining Gig Harbor's Danse Ensemble with dancers from The Academy of Performing Arts and actors from Encore! Theater. The show will be a wonderful addition to your holiday plans!
