Bellingham  -  The Mount Baker Ballet (MBB) production of The Nutcracker celebrates the 30th season of this regional company at the Mt. Baker Theatre, 104 Commercial in Bellingham, WA. Tickets are available at the theatre box office or by calling 360-734-6080. Dancers of the MBB will be joined by selected students from the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet and members of the community. The production features the original Petipa-Ivanov choreography staged by Illaria Obidenna Ladre. Bothell - Cameo/Carrabba Dance Theatre presents "The Nutcracker" and the Gift of Sharing. This timeless classic set to the Magnificent Tchaikovsky score, with colorful costumes, sets by Tony Canlis and a magical world of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. This original version, features children and adults, toy soldiers, dolls, mice, snowflakes, a dancing bear, Chinese, Russian, Spanish dancers who come together to create a fantasy world of characters and effects .  This fast-paced production has been choreographed by Marco Carrabba, who is the Artistic Director. He performed with major dance companies, Hamburg, and Stuttgart Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Boston, San Francisco.           This timeless holiday classic is directed by recent Bainbridge transplant Jane Venezia and features classical and original choreography by Seattle resident Anna Percival and Ms. Venezia. Tchaikovsky's melodies sweep audience members of all ages off their feet, first to the historic Victorian era, and then to the magical Land of the Sweets.
          The first weekend's performances at Bainbridge High School's LGI Theater, are nearly all sold-out.  Best availability is for the second weekend's performances at North Kitsap Community Auditorium in Poulsbo.
          OPG's Nutcracker, sponsored by The Doctors Clinic, debuts at Bainbridge High School's LGI Theatre with a special charity performance benefiting local retirement homes (The Helpline House and Stephens House).

Gig-Harbor-1bGig Harbor  -  Milton S. Boyd Performing Arts Center  - Encore! Theater proudly announces it's annual production of "The Nutcracker, Beyond the Dream" at the Milton S. Boyd Performing Arts Center located on the campus of Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, Washington.  Four full length performances will occur on Saturday and Sunday December 20 and 21 at 2:30 and 7:30 on both days.
     Choreographed to the soaring music of Tchaikovsky by Jennifer Branner and Artistic Director, Kathleen McGilliard, the traditional ballet boasts an original musical theater prologue and epilogue which tells the tale of how the Nutcracker actually came to be.  Then because Claramarie loves him in spite of his wooden head, she helps to break the curse allowing the handsome Prince to lead Claramarie into the magical land of the "The Sugar Plum Fairy". 
     With guest performers and featured dancers from the Gig Harbor Danse Ensemble, a cast of close to 50 will sing, act and dance their way into yours heart as Party Guests, Gig-Harbor-2shimmering snow flakes, tuneful flutes and colorful flowers.  All of the characters are there ....even Mother Ginger and her children.  A wonderful addition to your Happy Holidays!

Olympia - Washington Center for the Performing Arts - Ballet Northwest presents the magical holiday classic ballet The Nutcracker, by Tchaikovsky in eight performance on December 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21 at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Olympia
     South Puget Sound's own Ballet Northwest performs the holiday classic ballet, The Nutcracker to music by Tchaikovsky. This local production of the holiday classic has become a community tradition in Olympia, wowing the kids and enchanting the adults for decades. Ballet Northwest is Southwest Washington's largest ballet company, featuring talented local dancers from age eight to sixty-nine, drawn community-wide from Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties.
     Performance dates are Fridays, December 12 and 19 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, December 13 and 19 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays, December 14 and 21 at 2:00 p.m.
