- The Alliance Dance Institute is pleased to present a full season of The Alexandria Ballet's "Nutcracker". The performance is guaranteed to delight children, parents, and grandparents alike.
What sets this performance apart is that it is truly geared toward younger audiences. Alexandria Ballet Artistic Director Virginia Britton's choreography is set to highlights from Tchaikovsky's classic Nutcracker score, and lasts 55 minutes. Children are allowed to sit on the floor at the edge of the stage, and are encouraged to 'boo' the Mouse King and applaud for the Prince. After the performance, the dancers come out to meet the children, give them a candy cane and pose for treasured photos.
The Alexandria Ballet Nutcracker is a joyful way for parents to share a love of the arts without making their children act like adults. One local grandmother stated, "I have been sharing this treasure with my family for years… this year will be five grandchildren from five to nine years of age, and their parents. We so enjoy this annual tradition."
The twenty-dollar general admission ticket price makes this Nutcracker experience within reach of most families. The Alliance Dance Institute is partnering with several local institutions to provide tickets to those who might not otherwise be able to attend. For the second year in a row, one performance is specifically dedicated to special needs children and their families.
While the Alexandria Ballet Nutcracker is family-friendly, it retains the classical ballet experience. One of the parents of a child in the performance stated, "Last year was such fun. My child has been taking class with the Alexandria Ballet for three years, and to have the opportunity to be on stage with the professionals, and share the experience with her classmates and friends was such a joy."
The will-call, coat-check, and Nutcracker shop are all located in the Nutcracker Lounge adjacent to the theater space. Audience members are invited to enjoy the Nutcracker Lounge before and after performances. The Theater and Lounge are at the Alliance Dance Institute, located in the Landmark Mall, 5801 Duke Street, Alexandria, Virginia. There is ample free covered parking.

members, and two tickets to the Saturday matinee Nutcracker performance. CBT also offers philanthropic opportunities for children--Petite Partners (ages 5-9), Cast

 Gainesville – Gainesville Ballet School is proud to announce there will be
two productions of A Children's Nutcracker this holiday season. In 2011, the ballet performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m
. Both ballets will be performed at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Va. Ticket prices start at $15. There is no additional cost for parking, and seats are

The Ballet School performs A Children's Nutcracker annually in the rapidly-growing region of greater
Piedmont. Unyielding dedication to the development of performing arts in our community has opened the performance venue to 100 dancers this year. The cast
includes both pre-professionals and professionals in its sixth year of production. For some of the youngest girls, this event is the first opportunity to
