Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet presents The Nutcracker - a Christmas tradition. Set to music by Peter Ilyich  Tchaikovsky and choreography by MMB Artistic Director Jennifer Beasley, Assistant Artistic Director Erik Kegler, and Victoria Lee Ramsay, this ballet is a delight to children of all ages.

The Nutcracker tells the story of the Stahlbaum's Christmas party where Clara receives a Nutcracker doll from Herr Drosselmeyer. Later, after the party, Clara awakens to find her Nutcracker doll has come to life. She witnesses a battle between the Nutcracker and his soldiers and Mouse King. The Nutcracker takes her on a journey through a forest of snow to the Kingdom of Sweets where many dances are performed in her honor, including a lovely dance by the Sugar Plum Fairy.
