-honored traditions of this story while placing them in the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition. This is truly Nashville's Nutcracker with the addition of
historical landmarks, famous families of that era, dazzling costumes, shiny new sets and scenery, and over 200 children from the Nashville area community will be cast in
imaginative new roles. The Nashville Symphony will be there to perform the glorious Tchaikovsky score. Special pre-show activities will include a festive Victorian Winter
Carnival outside the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Opening night attendees will also have the opportunity to attend a pre-performance gala dinner at The Hermitage Hotel.

Oakridge - Holding the oldest continuous dance charter in the state of Tennessee,
the Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association (ORCBA) is celebrating their 45th season with a Gala Celebration before presenting The Nutcracker with the UT Chamber
Orchestra and Sound Company, Too!. This will be the first time in over 25 years ORCBA has performed with live music. The Gala Celebration starts at 6:30PM on
Saturday before the show. There is also an Encore Performance on Saturday at 11AM, which features a shorter one-act version of the ballet (with taped music)
suitable for young kids or big groups. All performances are at the newly-renovated Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. For ticket pricing and information,
