Hoffmann's popular tale, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's gorgeous version of this classic tale tells the story of a young girl's Christmas fantasy. This Nutcracker features a life-size bear, dancing mice, a sugar-plum fairy, and a magically growing Christmas tree, all wrapped in a turn-of-the-century Canadian setting. Local children perform as mice, mounted police, and, of course, as children. - The Christmas classic Nutcracker Ballet is coming to the Owen Sound Collegiate auditorium, in Owen Sound, Ontario. A classic that celebrates the magic of Christmas The Nutcracker will be performed by Mijka's Dance Company, a new performing ensemble formed by Mijka Hooper's Dancemakers. Mijka Hooper's Dancemakers is one of the largest dance studios in the region. More than 400 students participate in ballet, jazz and tap classes. - Imperial Theatre - The St. Clair Youth Ballet presents "The Nutcracker". The performance features 30 local talent dancers from age 8 - 18 years old, 2 professional guest dancers and 18 local adult performers. The show, choreographed by Company Artistic Director Mrs. Shirley Schram, will be the 8th year of the Christmas Ballet production. It has delighted and entertained the children and adults of all age for the love of ballet.

- Humberside Collegiate - The Nutcracker produced by Pia Bouman School for Ballet and Creative Movement. This annual production has been embraced by the Parkdale and High Park communities for the last 20 years! Although the story remains the same it is re-choreographed each year by Artistic Director Pia Bouman and is performed by the school's students aged 8-18 years with special adult guests. It is a real example of what can be accomplished with a youth company and with the support of parent volunteers to organize the costumes, sets, and props.
